CBD Retail shop in Nottinghill, London.
The brief was to create a new, contemporary, minimal and clean space with a laboratory, scientific feel, for our client to display all their CBD products.
As a play on the scientific formular for CBD, we introduced molecular accents into the design in the form of the accent decorative pendants, that run down the centre of the shop, and the subtle metal inlays to the hexagonal floor tiles, that lead the customer and their eyes into the store and to the central unit. This will eventually have the addition of a mini laboratory installed.
The key to the design was to keep the finishes minimal, and where possible, from a natural sustainable source. For example clay walls and timber.

The central display unit has been designed to house a laboratory-type display intended for the customer to be able to mix their own CBD tonics in the future. The customer is drawn to this display by the installation along the wall that leads to the unit in the form of scientic glass vessels and copper piping.

The elongated and narrow space has been divided into two zones: Retail and a cafe / client consultation area, by a central archway.

The budget for this project was quite modest so a lot of consideration was taken in making sure the money was spent on key elements: Accent decorative pendants and the clay walls. The latter softens the space and gives it a tactile quality as well as contrasting against the crisp white of the upper section of walls and the industrial feeling of the downlights on tracks.
The arches that divide this elongated space serve to intrigue the client and lead them into the space beyond, with its small but comfortable cafe zone and client consultations area.
