Re-instatement Suites
Our brief was to design two types of Guestroom designs and one Suite within a section of the Hotel that had been used as BOH for some time. To keep with the Victorian heritage of the architecture, but with a fresh modern approach and a feeling of luxury, in keeping with the brand, to create a versatile, relaxing experience for the guests. The Guestroom designs were broken down into a Business Type and Leisure Type.
We gave the schemes a neutral colouring with blocks of colour in luxurious, textured fabrics to create depth with accents of pattern added in cushions and details to furniture to enrich. Re-introduced panelling to the walls and carpet inspiration was taken from a mix of embroidery and Chinese designs. Playing around with the scale, colour and layering we were able to create a twist to the latter. The rooms were filled with collections, reminiscent of foreign travel in the Victorian era, creating more layering in the overall design.
