INSPIRATION
Estepona has been a popular destination among Spanish and foreign visitors for some time, with it’s squares, fountains and town walls that exude elegant charm. Inspired by the small scale of the streets and the decorative layering and diverse decorative influences of centuries of inhabitants from other cultures, we aspire to integrate this scale and eclectic decoration into the project whilst still maintaining the austerity and integrity of the JW Marriott design ethos.
Key Elements: Esparto mats; Triana Tiles; Planted pots with iron fittings; Plasterwork inspired by the neolitic Cardial and Almagra pottery techniques; Andalusian courtyards with filtered light and plants; metal work inspired by the Tartessos Kingdom; Andulusian ferias are festivities which celebrate bull fighting and horse parades, where the horses are highly decorated with their best garlands.

Authentic and conscientious use of natural elements: flow from the outside-in and from the insideout. Composing a seamless and melodious experience between landscape and interior architecture.
Adding depth to the design through a considered approach to pattern, texture and colour which is relevant and contemporary. Here we have incorporated textures inspired by the Cardial and Almagra art styles which uses patterns from shells to create stunning textures and add another layer of interest to this tranquil Guestroom design.

We incorporated accents of metal throughout the guestroom and terrace - from details on the headboard to the floating pots on the terrace. Colours are neutral so as not to distract from the beautiful location.
Within the space we have leather accents and horsehair light fittings that give a nod to the Andulusian ferias and are a homage to the beautifully decorated horses as well as offering another layer of interest and reference to the locality.

Materials
Neutral colour tones, natural materials, leather, ironwork, clay. Subtle geometric patterns with a nod to the locality.
Existing floors - Emperador and limestone had to be maintained through out the guestrooms so the scheme needed to compliment these elements.

Super King Guestroom

Double Double Guestroom
The scheme also carries across to the standard Double Double Guestrooms as well as Suites. All of the latter will also have additional embellishments to make them stand out from the standard rooms.
